Hear From Interim Head Coach Joshua Taylor
On the Tigers' perfect weekend at Hearnes…
"It was a great weekend all-around. We were so excited to be back home in front of our great fans and I think we delivered four really good performances on the court. I was pleased with our consistent offensive attack these past four matches. Defensively, I think our block stepped up as well. We had three girls averaging over a block per set. Looking ahead, we have a big-time weekend at Baylor coming up. We're going to continue to train hard and get ready for two big matches."
#MIZ Takeaways
- Mizzou is off to an 8-0 start for the sixth time since 2000. It's the program's third time they've accomplished the feat since joining the Southeastern Conference (2013, '15, '19).
- In the past 10 Tiger Invitationals at the Hearnes Center (2009-16, '18-19), Mizzou owns an outstanding 30-6 (.833) record. Sunday's tournament-clinching victory over Boise State gave the Tigers their seventh Tiger Invitational crown over the aforementioned span.
- The Tigers performed exceptionally well across the board this weekend, leading to only one dropped set in their four matches played. In their 12 set victories, nine of those saw the opposition score fewer than 20 points.
- The past two weekends, Mizzou's offense has been virtually unstoppable. At the Dayton Invitational last weekend (Sept. 6-7), the Tigers posted 158 kills (14.36 per set) on .434 hitting. This weekend inside the Hearnes Center, Mizzou tallied 187 kills (14.38 per set) on .396 hitting with one extra match played.
