Wednesday's duel on the pitch will be final exhibition
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou soccer will close its exhibition schedule with a road trip to Colorado State, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. CT. The Tigers are coming off a loss to No. 3 Stanford – a national semifinalist in 2018 – this past weekend in the team's first exhibition of the season.
The Rams went 6-9-4 last season, finishing ninth in the Mountain West Conference.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first all-time meeting between Mizzou and Colorado State on the pitch. The Tigers have a winning tradition over schools from The Centennial State, owning a 14-6-1 advantage over Colorado, and a 1-0 advantage over Colorado College.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Wednesday's contest will mark a homecoming for four Tigers from the Colorado pipeline. Freshmen Briana Abam (Aurora, Colo.) and Haley Steinke (Castle Rock, Colo.) are newcomers to the Show Me State, while junior Bella Alessi (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Peyton Joseph (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) will be making the return trip to Colorado.
- After only getting five shots off against the Cardinal, Mizzou is looking to get its offensive attack going against the Rams. The Tigers return all six goal scorers from last season's squad.
