McDaniel has career day at the plate, knocking in four
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 24 Mizzou Baseball (32-16-1, 11-11-1 SEC) evened its weekend series at No. 23 Tennessee Saturday afternoon, producing a 6-2 victory. It was a long day at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, which included a two-plus hour rain delay.
Following the inclement weather in Knoxville, the Tigers quickly responded with a single run in the fourth inning. Mizzou added a crooked number in the top half of the sixth and eighth innings, securing the series-tying victory.
Sophomore C Chad McDaniel enjoyed a career day at the plate, producing a single-game best four RBI on three hits. His three-run home run in the sixth inning gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead at the halfway point of the ballgame.
Mizzou's bullpen also played a pivotal role Saturday, as sophomore RHP Ian Bedell and senior RHP Cameron Dulle combined to limit the Volunteers to 2 ER over 6.1 innings of relief following the lengthy rain delay.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On Saturday's triumph over the Volunteers…
"It's a good one. It was well played in tough conditions. You lose your ace (Sikkema) in the third inning because of rain. Ian (Bedell) had a great effort and so did Cameron (Dulle). They did an outstanding job. Then Chad (McDaniel) puts that three-run shot out and everything else took care of itself."
On the middle of the Tiger order producing…
"That's what we were hoping to see. They're good hitters and we were hoping to see them dig in and start swinging it well."
On Bedell bouncing back after a shaky outing Friday evening…
"That's what I thought he'd do in that situation. The night before it just wasn't your typical Ian. I really liked the way he responded. He has been doing it all season long for us."
