Trials to select the 12-member team will take place May 16-20 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team members will return to Colorado Springs for training camp July 23-Aug. 5, before competing in the women's basketball tournament at the 2019 Pan American Games from Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru.
In her junior campaign, Smith averaged 12.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while helping lead Mizzou to its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Tiger junior led the team in rebounds (243) and offensive rebounds (68), while ranking second on the team in scoring (435 points), blocks (28) and steals (31). Smith increased her double-double production in large forces in 2018-19, as she recorded eight on the season after recording just two in her freshman and sophomore seasons, combined.
