@MizzouTennis Continues Road Trip With Swing Through Mississippi

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team continues its four-match road trip with a pair of contests in the state of Mississippi this weekend. Missouri starts things off against Mississippi State on Friday, March 29 at 3 p.m. in Starkville, Miss., before a 1 p.m. match at Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., on Sunday, March 31.
Most recently, Mizzou claimed a pair of 4-0 sweeps over host Savannah State on March 26. Three Tigers, sophomores Taylor Gruber and Marta Oliveira, and freshman Vivien Abraham, both picked up two singles victories on the day. Also posting wins were junior Gabrielle Goldin and freshman Lisa Fukutoku.
The Bulldogs enter Friday's matchup 11-8 overall and 2-5 in Southeastern Conference action, and have league wins over Florida (4-3) and Auburn (4-2). The Rebels are 6-7 on the year, including a 3-4 record in SEC action. So far they have conference wins over Auburn (4-2), Alabama (4-2) and Mississippi State (4-1).
Next weekend, the Tigers conclude the home portion of their schedule with a trio of matches at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Missouri opens play on Friday, April 5 against No. 18 Tennessee at 5 p.m. On Sunday, April 7 the team hosts No. 1 Georgia at 1 p.m. and Western Illinois at 5 p.m.
