COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou tennis team fell to No. 21 LSU, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Missouri fell to 11-8 overall and 0-7 in Southeastern Conference action, while LSU improved to 14-6 and 4-4.
DOUBLES
The visiting Tigers used 6-4 wins at all three doubles positions to nab the doubles point. Mizzou sophomores Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) and Taylor Gruber (Spicewood, Texas) fell to Kennan Johnson and Taylor Bridges at No. 2, juniors Mackenzy Middlebrooks (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Serena Nash (Bradford, England) were defeated by the No. 10 doubles tandem of Eden Richardson and Jessica Golova at No. 1, and junior Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and freshman Lisa Fukutoku (Tokyo, Japan) fell to Anna Loughlan and Paris Corley at No. 3 action.
SINGLES
Wins at No. 2 and 4 singles gave LSU a 3-0 advantage, with No. 60 Golovin downing Fukutoku, 6-0, 6-2, and Corley defeating Wright, 6-0, 6-4. Middlebrooks fought hard against Richardson, the nation's No. 10 singles player, but ultimately fell 7-5, 6-2 to give the match to LSU.
Sophomore Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) seemed poised to claim a singles victory at No. 6 competition but play was suspended with a 7-5, 5-3 score.

Missouri travels to Savannah, Ga., to take on Savannah State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 26 at 1 p.m. CT and 3 p.m. CT.
