Jacobs Resets Discus School Record at Herm Wilson Invitational

Five program top-10 marks set overall
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field closed competition at the Herm Wilson Invitational on Saturday, as redshirt senior Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.) reset her school record in the discus. In total, five program top-10 marks were set, as four other Tigers set personal best marks.
NOTABLE FINISHES
Jacobs, a two-time NCAA All-American in the discus, reset her school record mark with a first place finish at 60.25m (197-8). Jacobs is the only Tiger to ever surpass 60 meters in the discus, as she surpassed her previous best mark of 60.16m (197-4) which she set at the U.S. Track & Field Championships on June 21, 2018.
In the javelin, freshman Ava Curry (Liberty, Mo.) made a splash in her debut, as she posted the third-best mark in program history with a mark of 47.90m (157-2). She now only trails Hailey Twietmeyer's 2014 mark of 51.17m (167-10.5) and Katine Haarklau's 2013 mark of 49.56m (162-7) all-time at Mizzou.
From the sprints and hurdles group, senior Maya Cody (St. Louis, Mo.), sophomore Nylo Clarke (Riverside, Mo.) and freshman Morgan O'Neal (Sylacauga, Ala.) all set top-10 marks. Cody posted a time of 11.69 in the 100m dash for the fifth-best time, while Clarke ran a 20.81 in the 200m dash for the seventh-best time and O'Neal a 1:01.35 in the 400m hurdles for the ninth-best time. Clarke also ran a 10.30 in the 100m dash, which would rank sixth all-time at Mizzou if it weren't for a wind recording of 3.1.

Mizzou will split for its next meet, as the Tigers will be in competition at the Texas Relays (March 27-30) and Stanford Invitational (March 29-30).
