Razorbacks pitching overpowers Tiger bats Friday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Mizzou Baseball (11-6, 0-1 SEC) had no answer on offense Friday evening at Baum Stadium, as No. 10 Arkansas used an impressive pitching display en route to a 2-0 victory. The Razorbacks hurlers limited the Tigers to two hits while posting 15 strikeouts.
Mizzou's pitching was no slouch either however, as junior LHP Jacob Cantleberry and senior RHP Jordan Gubelman allowed five hits and two runs. Cantleberry struck out six Razorbacks while Gubelman closed the night with back to back scoreless frames in relief.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On tonight's Southeastern Conference opener…
"Well it was just a well-pitched game on both sides. It was tough for anyone to score runs. We had a tough time getting things going. Those are such quality arms that Arkansas threw at us tonight. Campbell was on top of his game. He threw some big league stuff at us tonight. He started us soft then pumped 93-94 mph at us. We had a tough time adjusting to it."
On Cantleberry's solid SEC debut…
"The difference in this ballgame was that he had some jitters there in the first inning. He got a couple easy outs then all of a sudden Arkansas strung a couple hits. He walked two guys and they got a run. The other run they scored in the fourth he hit the leadoff guy in that inning. Then they manufactured that run. For his first time in the SEC and in a tough environment, for him to come out and keep us in this ballgame, I thought he did an outstanding job."
On Gubelman's outstanding job in relief…
"Gubelman is a master out there. He's got the changeup going and the slider going. He has been able to do that every time we have sent him out there and he has been really good for us."
