This fall, several changes are in store at Memorial Stadium that will have a direct positive impact on Tiger fans. The most eye-catching feature will naturally be the sparkling new $98-million South End Zone complex, which will house the football program on a daily basis. Just as importantly for fans, the complex will provide new seating opportunities, including enhanced amenities and premium areas. The complex will also feature a new video board that will add to the in game experience for the entire stadium.
Mizzou Athletics is pleased to announce that the vast majority of Tiger fans will be paying less or the same for their season tickets as they did a year ago. Some 85 percent of Mizzou's season tickets in 2019 will see either a decrease or no change from 2018, despite the fact that Mizzou is coming off of consecutive bowl seasons, and returns a team which is ranked in the pre-season top-25 by many national outlets.
The average price decrease in 2019 equals an average savings of $132 per seat, and of the small percentage which did increase, the largest increase for season tickets was only $20/ticket for the year. Chief among the price reductions are big savings for students and in the east side Tiger Deck.
In 2019, Mizzou students will pay only $150 for an All-Sport Pass (a savings of $115 from last season) if purchased before Aug. 1. The All-Sport Pass includes tickets for all Mizzou Football & Men's Basketball games, along with admission into every regular season Mizzou Athletics home event during the school year in all ticketed sports. With Football (seven games) and Men's Basketball (approximately 16 games) events alone, that comes out to just $6.50 per game to see the Tigers during the 2019-20 school year. The All-Sport Pass price increases to $200 if purchased on or after Aug. 1. Students will receive more information on ordering student tickets via their student email as it's available.
Fans enjoying the view from the Tiger Deck in sections 305-311 (which stretch from roughly the south 10-yard line to the north 10-yard line) will see a 31 percent drop in season ticket prices to $199 – an $89 decrease per seat from last year's price of $288.
"We appreciate the fact that people have a lot of options when it comes to how they spend their hard-earned money," said Mizzou Director of Athletics Jim Sterk. "We're excited to offer very affordable prices for what will undoubtedly be a big year at Memorial Stadium for our program and our fans. A lot of our plan comes directly from survey data of our fans and what they want and expect to see from us. We've been able to incorporate much of that data-driven research, as well as secondary ticket market analysis into the plan to create fan educated ticket pricing for the 2019 season."
Another Memorial Stadium enhancement includes an update of the section letter/numbers. Instead of letters that designate each section, all sections will now be labeled with numbers. The sections start with 101 on the east side (south end) and move to 110 (north end), and continue on the other side with 116 (west side, north end) through 125 (west side, south end). The brand new seating areas created from the South End Zone structure will be labeled 126 through 132 (running from west-to-east).
"We believe our fans will appreciate the new section numbering system," said Jay Luksis, Mizzou Executive Associate Athletic Director. "In the past, seating could be confusing, as some rows were split in half as two different sections. We're changing the sections and seating numbers, to make things much easier to navigate."
Luksis also noted that no season ticket holders will have their seat locations moved to a different area unless they've requested to do so.
With the move of the Mizzou team to the West sideline last season, the student seating area is required to move, per Southeastern Conference rules. The new student sections in 2019 will be located in sections 102-103 and 107-110.
In addition, several new ticket opportunities are available in 2019 which provide premium sight lines and affordable pricing. With the required move of the Mizzou student sections, new inventory in Sections 104 – 106 will be available for season ticket holders to relocate or purchase new seats on the 50-yard line.
Brand-new seating areas created for 2019 provide very affordable alternatives, including a Mizzou Letterwinners Club Section and a Young Alumni Section. Letterwinners will pay just $199 per seat for the season in Section 116 and must be a dues-paying Letterwinners Club member. Young Alumni seating will also be available in Section 116 at $199 per ticket, which also includes a TSF membership. The Young Alumni discount is available for recent Mizzou graduates (2014-2019).
With an exciting home slate featuring the likes of South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss (Homecoming) and West Virginia, the 2019 Mizzou Football home schedule is sure to provide lasting memories for Tiger fans of all ages!
