After a second-place finish at Regionals, George heads to Terre Haute, Indiana
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Mizzou Cross Country redshirt senior Thomas George (Gloucester, England) will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete against runners from across the country on Saturday in the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships. George looks to continue a strong senior season as he comes off of a second place finish at the Midwest Regional Championships last week in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
George has had an outstanding senior campaign that has included a pair of first place finishes, the most in a single season for a Mizzou man over the last five years. One of those first-place finishes came at the Gans Creek Classic, the inaugural race at Mizzou's brand-new Gans Creek Cross Country Course. The other came at Mizzou's opener at LA Nickell Golf Course.
George will be the first Mizzou athlete to compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships since Karissa Schweizer ran in 2017. George has competed at regionals twice in his career at Mizzou and has twice been named to the NCAA Midwest Cross Country All-Region Team, but this will mark his first appearance in the championships. .
The championships are slated for Saturday, November 23 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. The women's race will start at 10:15 am CT, with the men's race following at 11:15 am CT. A live stream of the event will be available through FloTrack.org for a fee.
