Mizzou Volleyball’s Deberg Named SEC Overall and Offensive Player of the Week

Tiger outside hitter has posted five-straight matches with 20-plus kills
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball junior OH Kylie Deberg was recognized as the Southeastern Conference Week Six Volleyball Overall and Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
"Kylie had another big week for us and is completely deserving of these honors," Mizzou Volleyball interim head coach Joshua Taylor said. "She's been so consistent for us all year and has taken her game to another level. She's really stepped up as a leader on the court too and we're very proud of all of her contributions thus far."

Monday's announcement marks Deberg's fifth career honor by the SEC office. She was also tabbed the SEC Overall and Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season (Sept. 9) and was recognized as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week three times in her 2018 sophomore campaign.
This past week in matches at LSU (Oct. 2) and versus Texas A&M (Oct. 6), Deberg produced her fourth and fifth consecutive matches with 20-plus kills. The Hudson, Iowa, native owns six 20-plus kill matches overall this year, marking the most 20-plus kill outings by a Tiger in a single-season since 2016.
With 24 points at LSU and 25.5 points versus the Aggies, Deberg now possesses 20-plus points in a single match nine times this season. She also continues to be ultra-effective from the service line, posting multiple aces in both matches this past week. Deberg has two-plus aces in 12-of-13 total matches this year.
The Tiger outside hitter enters this week's action leading the SEC in total kills (243), kills per set (5.06), total aces (28), aces per set (0.58), total points (285) and points per set (5.94). Nationally, Deberg ranks fourth in points per set, fifth in aces per set, seventh in kills per set, 27th in total points, 29th in total aces and 42nd in total kills.
