San Juan native led dominant two-match offensive stretch for the Tigers
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball redshirt sophomore S Andrea Fuentes was recognized as the Southeastern Conference Week Nine Volleyball Overall Player and Setter of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
"This is definitely another worthy honor for Andrea," said Mizzou Volleyball interim head coach Joshua Taylor. "Our offense is doing a lot of great things right now and that starts with consistent play and decision-making from the setter position. Andrea has been getting so many different people involved on offense and that causes a lot of problems for the opposition."
Monday's announcement marks Fuentes' seventh career honor by the SEC office. She was also tabbed the SEC Overall Player and Setter of the Week on Sept. 16, while earning Setter of the Week accolades on Sept. 9. The San Juan native was named SEC Setter of the Week once in her 2018 redshirt freshman campaign, while garnering SEC Freshman of the Week honors on three occasions as well.

She concluded her weekend on the court with 51 assists, as Mizzou hit .415 as a team in a straight-set triumph over the Bulldogs. Fuentes' 51 assists were the most by an SEC player in a three-set match this season.
