ON TAP THIS WEEK
- Mizzou will play two matches during the penultimate week of the regular season.
- The Tigers will host Alabama (Oct. 24) at Walton Stadium, before hitting the road to face No. 22 Texas A&M (Oct. 27).
- Thursday's match will be streamed on SEC Network+, while Sunday's match will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
- With three matches remaining on the season, Mizzou is looking to gain points down the stretch to have a shot at the SEC Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers only played once last week, facing Kentucky on the road (Oct. 18).
- With walk-on Gillian Schulte (Columbia, Mo.) starting in goal for Mizzou, the Tigers fell 2-1 for their fourth-straight road contest without a victory.
- Mizzou's last win on the road came on a 3-1 victory over Ohio State, Aug. 25, while the Tigers finished with a 1-1 draw at Ole Miss, Sept. 20.
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT...ALABAMA
- Currently sixth in the SEC standings, the Crimson Tide have an 8-4-3 record on the season, with all four losses coming to teams ranked in the United Soccer Coaches top 25.
- Alabama has a goal differential of +12 (29-17) entering the week.
- Leading the Crimson Tide offensively are Casey Wertz (14 points) and Riley Mattingly (nine points). Both players have four goals on the season. Four other Alabama players have seen the back of the net three times this year.
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT...TEXAS A&M
- Currently ranked 22nd in the nation, Texas A&M was the preseason pick to win the conference in the coaches' poll.
- The Aggies currently have a goal differential of +24 on the year, scoring 36 goals to opponents' 12.
- Both Jimena Lopez and Ally Watt have scored eight goals this season, with each also surpassing the 20-point threshold.
- Shantel Hutton has made all 16 starts in the net this season, posting a save percentage of 79.3-percent.
SEC LEGENDS FACE OFF
- Sunday's match will feature a showdown between two of the winningest coaches in the conference.
- Both Bryan Blitz and Texas A&M's G Guerrieri have spent 29 seasons roaming the sideline as a collegiate head coach.
- Blitz currently owns a record of 293-252-44, while Guerrieri has won 468 games in his career.
- The two are both graduates of Tulsa, with Blitz graduating in 1987, and Guerrieri graduating in 1985.
A MATH EQUATION IS A MATH EQUATION
- With three matches remaining in the regular season, Mizzou is in need of wins in order to have a chance to qualify for the SEC Tournament (Nov. 3-10).
- The Tigers are currently in 12th in the SEC standings with four points on the season, and they are three points back of Tennessee and Mississippi State.
- Mizzou owns a potential tiebreaker over Tennessee, and will close out the regular season against Mississippi State on Oct. 31.
- Mizzou has qualified for the SEC Tournament every season since the program joined the conference in 2012.
AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
- In the SEC era (2012-present), Mizzou is 10-22-2 against ranked opponents, and has lost their last eight ranked matches.
- The last ranked win came against No. 9 Kentucky on Sept. 25, 2015, with the Tigers leaving Lexington, Ky. with a 3-1 victory.
