COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer (4-5-2, 1-1-1) faces a road test after a draw against Georgia in double overtime and a loss against Vanderbilt last week. Mizzou will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to battle Arkansas (7-2-2, 2-1) at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Razorback Field. The Tigers will try to prevent the Razorbacks from extending their two-game win streak, which includes a win over then-No. 2 Texas A&M.
Junior forward Sarah Luebbert (Jefferson City, Mo.) recorded the only goal in a 2-1 loss to Vanderbilt, making her the ninth player in Mizzou Soccer history to score 20 career goals. In the 21st minute, Luebbert headed the ball past the Vanderbilt goalkeeper and into the back of the net off of a bicycle kick assist from freshman forward Julissa Cisneros (Moreno Valley, Calif.), giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. The Tigers held the lead going into halftime, but the Commodores battled back and tied the game in the 59th minute. In the 82nd minute, the Tigers made the costly mistake of an own goal, allowing Vanderbilt to take the lead and win the game. Luebbert recorded three shots and one shot on goal in the loss.
