Newsome joins the Tigers after redshirt campaign with Colorado
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball has added transfer setter Jaden Newsome (Houston, Texas) to its 2018 roster, announced Thursday (May 3) by head coach Wayne Kreklow. Newsome will join the Tigers this upcoming season as a redshirt freshman after spending 2017 at the University of Colorado.
"We're very pleased to have Jaden joining our program," Coach Kreklow said. "We recruited Jaden out of high school and club ball, so we are obviously very familiar with her talent and skill set. She will be a great addition to our program. Jaden is an outstanding athlete, possessing great quickness and jumping ability. She has all the tools to become a great setter and we're confident that she will develop into an outstanding player for us. Jaden is a hardworking, positive player and will add a lot to our gym culture. We value great attitudes and character and Jaden brings both to Mizzou. We're very pleased she decided to become a part of the Mizzou Volleyball family and are excited about her future!"
