Tigers open the upcoming season Aug. 24-25
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Fresh off its second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance a year ago, Mizzou Volleyball brings an exciting mix of talented returners and newcomers into the upcoming 2018 campaign.
The Tigers' 2018 schedule officially opens Aug. 24-25 at the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Joining Mizzou inside Sinclair Gymnasium will be Delaware State, Fairfield and host James Madison.
Mizzou will matchup against Delaware State in its tournament opener. The Hornets, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, will feature four returning starters from a season ago. The Tigers close their weekend with a doubleheader against 2017 NCAA Tournament qualifiers in Fairfield and James Madison.
The Stags and Dukes are two of nine total programs on Mizzou's 2018 schedule who qualified for the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Fairfield produced a perfect 18-0 conference record, en route to its third consecutive and 10th all-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title in 2017.
James Madison also claimed a conference championship a season ago, as it tallied its second straight and fifth all-time Colonial Athletic Association Volleyball title.
