@MizzouMensGolf Closes Fall Campaign with Runner-Up Finish in Hawaii

Franssen, Stewart Secure Top-10 Finishes
Princeville, Hawaii – Mizzou Men's golf wrapped up its 2018 fall season at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational with its lowest team tournament total of the season. The Tigers finished second overall, firing a 26-under par (286-275-277—838). After the first round, Mizzou jumped seven spots to finish just one shot shy of tournament champion No. 11 Pepperdine.
Mark Leroux's lineup bested three ranked teams, including No. 15 Louisville, No. 37 Ole Miss, and No. 44 Purdue on its way to the second-place performance. Four of the five Tigers in the lineup finished under par and three placed in the top 25 individually.
Leading the Black & Gold were the two Scotland natives, Rory Franssen and Jamie Stewart, both finishing tied for sixth with a tournament total of 9-under 207. It marked Franssen's lowest 54-hole tournament total of the season and his second top-10 finish of the campaign. The junior shot a final round 4-under 68 with four birdies and one eagle to add to his first and second round scores of 71 and 68. Stewart finished with his best 18-hole score of the season shooting a bogie free 5-under 67. The sophomore completed the fall season with three top-10 finishes and a total of 69 birdies.
Finishing in the third spot for the Tigers was junior Ricky Sanders (The Hague, Netherlands). Sanders carded his best tournament total of the season at 6-under 210. Sanders finished his final round of the fall season with his best 18-hole score as a member of the Mizzou squad at 5-under 67. The junior moved up 17 spots to finish tied for 17th individually.
Senior Matt Echelmeier (Columbia, Mo.) was the fourth Tiger to finish under par with a tournament total of 2-under 214. Echelmeier started out the tournament strong with a first and second round 70-69 and concluded the tournament with 13 birdies and one eagle.
Sophomore Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.) completed the tournament at 2-over par 218 to mark his best tournament finish of the fall season. Parker jumped 13 spots after round two after firing a final round 2-under 70. Senior Luigi Botta (Cueno, Italy) rounded out the Tiger lineup finishing at 6-over 222.
