@MizzouTennis Continues Action at Missouri State Fall Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team went a combined 7-1 in singles action during the second day of competition at the Missouri State Fall Invitational Saturday in Springfield, Mo.
Junior Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and sophomore Taylor Gruber (Spicewood, Texas) both advanced to the semifinals of the Flight A singles bracket, while sophomore Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) is in the Flight B singles semifinals.
TOP TIGERS
Goldin, Gruber and Oliveira all went a perfect 2-0 in singles action on Saturday to advance in their respective flights. Goldin started her day with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Claudia Sole of Tennessee State, then came back from down a set to defeat Missouri State's Alye Darter, 3-6, 6-3, 10-4.
Gruber nabbed a pair of straight-set wins during day two competition. She was victorious, 6-1, 6-3 over Diana Cabrera of Southwest Baptist in the first round before a 6-2, 6-4 win over Fati Khamissi of MIssouri State in the second round.
In Flight B, Oliveira was a 6-1, 6-1 winner of Western Illinois' Ana Bjelica in the first round, then posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Gandara Gonzalez of Missouri State to remain alive in the winner's bracket.
Additionally, sophomore Ally Noback (Alpharetta, Ga.) dropped her first match of the day, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 to Manuela Barriga of Southeast Missouri State, but responded with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Missouri State's Alexia Meyer.
