@MizzouTennis Concludes Weekend at Missouri State Fall Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Mizzou tennis team concluded competition at the three-day Missouri State Fall Invitational Sunday morning at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
Junior Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) advanced to the championship match in Flight A singles before falling in the title round.
TOP TIGERS
Goldin led a trio of Tigers playing in semifinal action on Sunday morning. Playing in the top singles flight, Goldin earned a 6-1, 7-6 (3) win over Jill Van den Dungen of Southwest Baptist in her semifinal match. In the championship, the junior suffered a 6-4, 6-3 defeat to Central Arkansas' Fuku Nonoyama.
Nonoyama also ended the run of sophomore Taylor Gruber (Spicewood, Texas), who fell in the Flight A semifinals to the Sugar Bear, 6-4, 6-3. Gruber ultimately finished in fourth in the flight after a 6-4, 7-6 (6) loss to Van den Dungen in the third-place match.
Sophomore Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) placed third in Flight B with a 7-6 (3), 1-6, 10-5 win over Teona Velkoska of Southeast Missouri State in the third-place match after a semifinal loss to Constanca Crespo of Southwest Baptist, 6-4, 7-6 (6).
