
@MizzouTennis Goes 3-0 in Doubles to Open ITA Central Regionals

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Mizzou tennis team went a perfect 3-0 in doubles action to open during day one competition at the 2018 ITA Central Region Championship at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex in Iowa City, Iowa.
TOP TIGERS
A trio of Tiger doubles pairings won matches in the main draw on Friday. Junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and sophomore Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.), seeded seventh in the Regional, picked up an 8-3 win over Yana Gretchkina and Michela Xibilia of UMKC . The pair will face Alli Hodges and Skyler Miller on Saturday.
Junior Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and Taylor Gruber (Spicewood, Texas) were also victorious, earning an 8-4 win over Drake's Daria Walczak and Liza Petushkova. The pair advance to take on Julia Deming and Maria Toran Ribes of Kansas.
Also winners on Friday were junior Serena Nash (Bradford, England) and Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal). They defeated SLU's Ally McKenzie and Cassie McKenzie, 8-4, and will face Oklahoma's Jasmine Asghar and Ivana Corley on Saturday.

Day two competition at the ITA Central Regional continues on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. CT. Mizzou opens with doubles play before two rounds of singles action.
