COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer (5-7-2, 2-3-1) hosts Auburn (10-3-1, 2-3-1) this Sunday at 2 p.m. at Walton Stadium. This game is critical for both clubs, as the two teams come into the matchup with identical records in conference play with only four games left. There is currently a six-way tie for seventh place in the conference as it stands now between Mizzou, Ole Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida and LSU.
The Black & Gold had an up and down weekend, first beating Ole Miss at home in thrilling fashion, 2-1, behind a two-goal performance from freshman forward Julissa Cisneros (Moreno Valley, Calif.), then falling on the road at LSU, 1-2. Cisneros' performance against the Rebels was capped by a masterful game-winner in the 86th minute to help the Tigers secure the much-needed win at home. Cisneros scored in the LSU game as well, but her breakthrough in the 87th minute proved to be too little too late. Cisneros was rewarded for her efforts in both games with the SEC's Freshman of the Week award.
TALKING POINTS
- The Tigers split their two game weekend series, beating Ole Miss at home, 2-1, while falling to LSU on the road, 2-1.
- Over her last four games, freshman forward Julissa Cisneros has collected seven points.
- Two Sundays ago, when the Tigers took on Vanderbilt at home, Cisneros assisted a goal with a bicycle kick that went off the crossbar. It was the first assist of her career.
- This past Thursday against Ole Miss, Cisneros was the hero for the Tigers, scoring both of the Black & Gold's goals in its 2-1 victory over the Rebels.
- The first goal came off of a header. Junior defender Anna Frick played the ball into the box, Junior forward Sarah Luebbert headed it back to the near post, and Cisneros was waiting in the center of the box to head it in. She put it in the left corner off the bounce.
- The second goal was a true stunner from Cisneros. In the 86th minute, Cisneros hit a ball off of a one-touch pass from Luebbert, and it sailed directly into the far corner. She shot it from about 18 yards out and from a tight angle, but it looked like it was going in from the second it left her foot.
- Against Ole Miss, Luebbert and Frick both had two assists.
- Luebbert had multiple assists in the same game for the first time since she accomplished the feat against Illinois in last year's season opener.
- The assists for Frick were the first of her career.
- Frick and Luebbert both had multiple assists against Ole Miss. The last time two different Tigers had multiple assists in the same game came in 2007 against Eastern Illinois, when Katya Hessel and Michelle Collins each had two (9/9/07).
- The last time the Tigers had four assists in one game came last season against Georgia. Kaitlyn Clark had two, Tess Rellihan had one and senior goalkeeper Kelsey Dossey had one.
- In the Tigers' loss at LSU, Cisneros was again the lone goal scorer for the Black & Gold, scoring an easy tap-in goal in the 87th minute.
- In the team's loss to LSU, redshirt junior midfielder Madison Lewis and junior defender Peyton Joseph both registered their first assists of the season. It was the second game in a row for the Tigers with multiple assists, the first time that has happened this season.
- The Tigers came into the games against Ole Miss and LSU with just two assists. They registered six in those two games alone.
LOOKING AT THE OPPONENT… AUBURN

- The Tigers also know how to share the ball with their teammates, ranking first in the SEC in assists with 42.
