COLUMBIA, Mo. - In its lone exhibition match of the preseason, the Mizzou soccer team fell to Oklahoma State, 1-0, Saturday evening at the Audrey J. Walton Soccer Stadium.
TURNING POINT
The Cowgirls scored less than three minutes into the third of three 30 minute periods. Camy Huddleston headed home a long cross in the 63rd minute for the eventual game-winner.
COACH SAYS
"This was a good test against a good Oklahoma State team, Mizzou Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "They were very physical, which is a good thing because we need to get ready for that with our schedule. We got to play everybody, we played nine freshman. In fact our older players and starters played the least minutes. We want to win every single game but this was used for evaluation purposes. Right now we're going to take what we saw in this game . Really what we wanted to see today was what our problems are, that's why we played a good team. Now we'll take that and work the rest of the week so we're ready for Illinois on Friday."
KEY NOTES
- Senior Kaitlyn Clark had a team-best three shots, including one on goal
- Mizzou's four keepers combined to make nine saves, including four from junior Kelsey Dossey
- The Tigers broke in three new starters on the backline
- Nine different newcomers saw the pitch for the Tigers, with no one playing less than 15 minutes
