COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 24 Mizzou Softball (21-16, 4-7 SEC) fell 4-2 to No. 25 Arkansas in Sunday's rubber match. After taking Friday evening's series opener, the Tigers dropped consecutive games to the Razorbacks en route to falling short in the overall weekend series.
Arkansas was carried by the long ball Sunday, highlighted by three home runs off Mizzou pitching. The Razorbacks tallied a solo home run in the second inning to open the afternoon's scoring, but senior Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) answered in the third with a two-run home run to put the Tigers on top.
Mack's blast marked her 28th career home run in Tiger black and gold, ranking alone in eighth place on the program's all-time home run list.
Mizzou's 2-1 advantage was short-lived however, as Arkansas posted two additional home runs in the fourth inning. The Tigers' offense was completely shut down beginning in the bottom half of the fourth, as the Razorbacks' Caroline Hedgcock allowed zero hits over 4.2 innings of work.
Six total Tigers managed a hit against Arkansas pitching on the day. Mack's home run in the second inning also extended her career high safely reached base streak to 16 games.
In the circle, freshman Parker Conrad (Winter Park, Fla.) was excellent in relief after blanking Arkansas over the final two innings.

Mack on Sunday's series finale…
"We were aggressive early and I think we did a good job against (Autumn) Storms. Once they went to the bullpen, we just couldn't come up with timely hits. We need to collectively come together and put together better at bats starting Tuesday against Western Illinois."
