- Mizzou Baseball returns home after a four-game road trip to host former Big 12 rival Texas A&M this weekend at Taylor Stadium. The three-game series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. as junior RHP Cole Bartlett will make his second consecutive Friday night start. The series resumes Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. Sunday. Mizzou will send junior ace RHP Tanner Houck to the mound on Saturday. Mizzou head coach Steve Bieser has not announced a starter for Sunday. All three games of the series will air on SEC Network+. Ben Arnet and Tim Jamieson have the call Friday and Saturday while Nate Gatter joins Jamieson on the call Sunday.
- This weekend will be full of promotions at Taylor Stadium. Alumni Weekend highlights the three-game series as a strong contingent of former Mizzou players from all generations will be back in the stands throughout the three-game series. Friday night will be Greek Night featuring contests between all Mizzou Greek organizations. The second of three post-game firework presentations is slated for Friday night as well. Saturday is baseball campers day and Sunday is 'Bark at the Park' as fans will be able to bring their dog to the Sunday finale.
- Mizzou is welcoming Texas A&M to Taylor Stadium for the first time since 2011. The two teams have played each of the last three series in College Station (2012, 2013 and 2015) as conference realignment led to Mizzou making those trips. Mizzou won the last series played between the two teams in Columbia. To put into perspective how long ago it was, Mizzou started LHP Rob Zastryzny in the Sunday game that year - he just won a World Series with the Cubs. Mizzou also defeated current St. Louis Cardinal starter Michael Wacha in game two of that series.
- Mizzou Baseball has shuffled its weekend rotation a bit heading into this weekend's three-game series with Texas A&M. After making an emergency start last Friday in a 9-3 win at Ole Miss, redshirt junior RHP Cole Bartlett will again get the Friday night start. It will be his second start of the season and fifth of his career. He started last week in place of Tanner Houck, who did not have enough time to get ready following a rain delay at the start of the game. Head coach Steve Bieser elected to keep those two pitcher on the same day of the week this week.
- Bartlett was lights out last week, tossing his first ever complete game while allowing just two earned runs. He did not walk a batter in the start and got 14 ground ball outs and four double plays. Bartlett currently ranks second on the team and 10th in the SEC with a 2.39 ERA. Bartlett is second on the team in wins (five) and third in innings pitched (52.2) and has allowed just nine extra base hits all season.
- Houck gets the call on Saturday. He was again tremendous last weekend at Ole Miss. He tossed 8.0 innings for the third consecutive start and scattered just five hits. Ole Miss did tag him for three earned runs but he struck out seven batters against only three walks. He has now turned in quality starts in 30 of his 40 career starts and has gone 6.0 innings in 34 of his starts.
- Texas A&M is coming off of a series win over Tennessee at home last weekend before winning over Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Tuesday, 5-2. Mizzou of course defeated the Islanders twice during the second weekend of the season. TAMUCC is one of three common opponents between Mizzou and A&M. The two teams have also played Kentucky and Alabama. Mizzou and A&M both swept Alabama while Kentucky swept A&M at Blue Bell Park. Mizzou took one game in the three-game set against the SEC East-leading Wildcats. Mizzou is 6-2 against those three teams while A&M is 4-3.

Series History
- Mizzou and Texas A&M obviously have a deep history as the two programs met plenty of times when they were both in the Big 12 Conference. Texas A&M holds a 47-35 lead in the all-time series.
- The two teams have not met since 2015, a series win for the Aggies in College Station. Now a junior and then a freshman, Tanner Houck was electric in Mizzou's only win that season, earning his fourth win of the year at Blue Bell Park. He tossed 7.0 innings and allowed just two runs to a Texas A&M team that was 26-2 and ranked No. 1 in the nation. That 2015 series was the final of three straight road trips vs. the Aggies for Mizzou as conference realignment threw a wrench in the scheduling. Mizzou was swept in 2013 and dropped two of three in 2012.
- Mizzou last played Texas A&M at Taylor Stadium in 2011. It was a crazy three-game series. Mizzou won the Friday night game, 10-9, using a seven-run seventh inning and then two runs in the ninth to earn the walk-off win. Mizzou scored both runs on bases-loaded walks, including a walk-off walk by Jonah Schmidt. Mizzou then defeated current St. Louis Cardinal starter Michael Wacha in game two. Mizzou tagged Wacha for nine runs, all in the sixth inning, to earn the 9-1 win. Mizzou OF Blake Brown had five RBI and three hits in the game, including a three-run homer as part of the nine-run sixth inning. Texas A&M salvaged the third game of the series with a run in the ninth inning to win 3-2.
