COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Mizzou Softball (18-13, 1-4 SEC) brought its bats to the Aggie Softball Complex for the second consecutive day, but failed to produce timely hits in a 7-3 loss against No. 7 Texas A&M.
The Tigers totaled 12 hits Sunday afternoon, but only tallied three runs against Aggies pitching. Mizzou stranded a season high 11 runners on base, as it continually struggled to produce a clutch hit at the plate.
Two days after only mustering two hits in a complete game shutout loss against Aggies' pitcher Trinity Harrington, Mizzou answered with a vengeance Sunday in its rematch. The Tigers touched up Harrington for three runs on eight hits over her one inning of work.
Senior Natalie Fleming (Silex, Mo.), sophomore Rylee Pierce (Visalia, Calif.) and senior Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) each drove in runners through Mizzou's impressive opening two turns at the plate.
Mizzou held an early 3-2 advantage heading to the bottom half of the third inning. Texas A&M began its run on Tigers pitching that frame, beginning with a two out three-run home run. The Aggies added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings en route to their ultimate 7-3 triumph.
The Tigers stranded multiple runners in five of their seven frames, including seven alone through the opening three innings of play.
Sophomore Regan Nash (Camden Point, Mo.), sophomore Kolby Romaine (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Mack all produced multi-hit outings Sunday despite the loss. Nash's first inning single moved her current hitting streak to seven games, establishing a new career high. Mack's perfect 2-for-2 day at the dish marked her team-leading 12th multi-hit game this year.

Mack on tallying another multi-hit afternoon…
"I felt the team and myself had a great game plan today at the plate. We really came out swinging in those first two innings. Personally, I wanted to jump on the first pitch I saw in the zone. I was able to execute that today."
