COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball (5-16, 0-9) returns home for the second-ever #RallyForRhyan Game on Saturday, Feb. 4, hosting Arkansas (17-5, 6-3) at Mizzou Arena for a 5 p.m. tipoff on the SEC Network and the Tiger Radio Network.

  • Rhyan Loos, six-year old daughter of Mizzou coaching staff member Brad Loos, is currently in a battle with pediatric cancer. The RallyForRhyan movement began in support of Rhyan and has grown tremendously since her diagnosis in October 2015. The Loos Family's goal now is to use the RallyForRhyan campaign to fund further pediatric cancer research.
  • Learn more about this opportunity to support pediatric cancer research at MUTigers.com/R4Rgame.
  • Youth is a big theme for the Tigers - the entire 2016-17 Mizzou roster is made up of first- or second-year players. Not a single member of the Mizzou program has been with the Black & Gold for three seasons. According to KenPom.com, the Tigers rank 334th out of 351 NCAA Division I teams in terms of experience.
  • Terrence Phillips ranks second in the SEC in assists/game during league play (5.2). He recorded a career-high 10 vs. Ole Miss (Jan. 21).

RALLY FOR RHYAN T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE

  • Also serving as Mizzou's annual Gold Rush Game, gold #RallyForRhyan t-shirts are again available exclusively through the Tiger Team Store, with all proceeds donated towards pediatric cancer research.
  • T-shirts ($14.99) are available in-person at the Memorial Stadium store location, the campus bookstore or online here.

OPPONENT - ARKANSAS

  • Arkansas enters Mizzou Arena with a record of 6-3 in Southeastern Conference play and 17-5 overall. The Razorbacks are 3-3 in road games this season.
  • Led by head coach Mike Anderson, the Razorbacks have won five of their last six games, losing only to Oklahoma State, 99-71, on Jan. 28.
  • Arkansas has four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by redshirt senior guard Dusty Hannahs, who is averaging 14.3 points per game. Junior guard Daryl Macon is second on team, averaging 13.2 points per game, while senior forward Moses Kingsley averages 12.2 points per game and junior guard Jaylen Barford averages 11.0 points per game.
  • Kingsley leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.9 rebounds per game, while redshirt junior forward Dustin Thomas is second on the team, averaging 4.0 boards per game. Kinglsey leads the team in offensive rebounds with 47, while Thomas has snagged 30.
  • Arkansas is averaging 81.3 points and 37.3 rebounds per game through 22 games, allowing 74.0 points and 35.5 rebounds per game to its opponents. Foes of the Razorbacks have shot 42.0 percent from field and 33.7 percent from the three-point line.

SECOND ANNUAL #RALLYFORRHYAN GAME ARRIVES AT MIZZOU ARENA

  • Mizzou's second #RallyForRhyan Game will take place Saturday, Feb. 4, as the Tigers host Arkansas for a 5 p.m. CT tipoff at Mizzou Arena.
  • Named after Mizzou Men's Basketball coaching staff member Brad Loos' six-year old daughter, Rhyan, the #RallyForRhyan movement began in support of Rhyan's ongoing fight against pediatric cancer.
  • Last season's first-ever #RallyForRhyan Game raised more than $50,000 dollars towards pediatric cancer research, with a season-high 10,536 fans coming to Mizzou Arena to cheer on the Tigers and offer their support.
  • The Black & Gold defeated Tennessee, 75-64, to make the first #RallyForRhyan Game (Feb. 13) even more special. Outgoing senior forward Ryan Rosburg scored 21 points in the win, followed by then-freshman forward Kevin Puryear's 17 points.

UPDATE ON RHYAN LOOS

  • Rhyan Loos has continued her battle against pediatric cancer after originally being diagnosed with neuroblastoma in October 2015. Surgery, chemotherapy and immunotherapy followed for the six-year-old girl, and she courageously completed each round.
  • Around this past Thanksgiving holiday, it was discovered that Rhyan had relapsed and had a brain tumor. Successful surgery followed, but Rhyan must undertake new rounds of treatments in order to put the disease into remission.
  • Mizzou's Special Assistant to the Head Coach, Brad Loos, has split time between seeing to the care of Rhyan and his team-related duties for head coach Kim Anderson. The majority of medical care Rhyan receives takes place in New York City at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

COUNT ON #CVL

  • Sophomore guard Cullen VanLeer (Pacific, Mo.) is a deep range threat, but has continued searching for consistency in his second season as a Tiger. VanLeer may have found it in Mizzou's latest six game stretch, as he has sank 11-of-22 from three-point territory (50.0 percent).
  • After not landing a three-pointer in Mizzou's first three SEC games, VanLeer has now made at least one shot from deep range in six consecutive games. That stretch included three games with multiple three-pointers.
  • Known as a gym rat and a son of a coach, VanLeer's father, John VanLeer, coached him at Pacific High School. VanLeer trudged through a rough start to SEC play, scoring zero points and shooting 0-for-3 vs. LSU (Jan. 4), at Georgia (Jan. 7) and vs. Auburn (Jan. 10).
  • Minutes have increased for VanLeer since Mizzou's game at Arkansas (Jan. 14) and the shooter's 28 minutes off the bench at Mississippi State (Jan. 25) were his most since his most recent start (35, vs. Illinois, Dec. 21).
  • VanLeer has made at least three three-pointers on five different occasions this season, up from two such occurrences as a freshman during 2015-16.
  • VanLeer has sank multiple three-pointers eight times through 21 games, an improvement from the seven times he accomplished the feat (31 games) last season.

PHILLIPS FROM DEEP

  • Sophomore guard Terrence Phillips (Orange County, Calif.) led the team in scoring for the fourth time this season at No. 24 Florida, scoring 14 points (5-of-10 FG, 4-of-5 3PT, 0-of-3 FT). His 14-point output is the 10th time this season and 21th time in his career he has scored in double figures.
  • Phillips drained four shots from the three-point line, the eighth time this season and 15th time in his career he has made multiple threes.
