Yuen Places Third, @MUWomensGolf Ties for Sixth at Trinity Forest Invitational

The fall season comes to a close with the conclusion of the tournament
DALLAS, Texas - Mizzou Women's Golf concluded its 2017 fall season Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU. The Tigers tied for 6th overall with a team total of 913 after battling a difficult course and tournament field.
The Tigers went up against a field of nationally ranked teams for the first time this season and came out tied with No. 12 Colorado and No. 45 SMU. The event was played at the Trinity Forest Golf Club, which is the host of PGA TOUR's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship and other high-profile professional events.
Sophomore Jessica Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) claimed her second Top-5 finish and fourth Top-10 finish of the season, placing third out of a field of 69 participants behind a 2-over for the tournament. She ended the final round with a 3-over par after tallying her second career 68 in round two.
"Jess had a really great tournament to finish the fall season," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "This is by far one of the hardest golf courses we have ever competed on and it was more of a mental test than a physical test for us. We had really good moments over the last two days and then we had some miscues that cost us. Overall it was a solid fall campaign for our squad."
Senior Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland) finished her final fall season round by placing 18th individually. She began the tournament with her lowest round of the season of 2-under, claiming her fourth round under par of the 2017 campaign.
The Tigers wrapped up a successful autumn, finishing the fall campaign with four Top-10 finishes as a team in five tournaments, including a first place finish at the Johnie Imes Invitational for the fourth consecutive year.
Both junior Emma Allen (Southampton, England) and Yuen placed in the top five multiple times during the fall season and tallied several rounds under par. Allen and Yuen both also matched the lowest 18-hole rounds in program history, posting 7-under 65 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and the Jim West Challenge, respectively.
Mizzou Women's Golf returns to action in February. The first tournament of the spring season will be in Tallahassee, Florida, at the Florida State Match-Up.
