COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team (5-9-1) travels to Lexington, Kentucky, to take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT). The match will be televised live on the SEC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Heather Mitts on the call.
TIGER TIDBITS
- The Tigers hold a 6-1-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Wildcats
- Mizzou also owns a 2-0-1 edge against Kentucky in Lexington
- Missouri suffered a pair of tough losses to ranked opponents last week, a 2-1 defeat to No. 9 Florida and a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 21 Tennessee
- Sophomore Sarah Luebbert netted two goals in the Tigers loss to Tennessee, her third and fourth goals of the season
- Missouri held a 2-1 late lead over the Volunteers but the visitors tied the match in the 86th minute and scored the golden goal in the 94th minute
- Luebbert now has 12 points to tie redshirt sophomore Madison Lewis for the team lead
- Lewis' 12 points are on five goals and two assists, while Luebbert has four goals and four assists
- Lewis added her team-leading fifth tally of the season on a free kick at Florida on Oct. 5
- At Vanderbilt on Sept. 29, Mizzou used goals from senior Jessica Johnson and Luebbert to recover from a 3-1 halftime deficit to knot the match at 3-3. However, The Commodores scored twice more in the second half to take the win
- Mizzou goalkeepers have combined to save two penalty kicks this season
- Redshirt senior Kristen Rivers stopped an attempt against Florida and junior Kelsey Dossey turned away a PK against Georgia
- The Tigers have tallied a season-high three goals four times in 2017: at Vanderbilt (Sept. 29), vs. Albany (Sept. 17) and vs. Georgia (Sept. 15) and at Illinois (Aug. 18)
- Nine different Tigers have found the back of the net this season: seniors Clark, Allie Hess, Johnson and Savannah Trujillo, redshirt sophomore Lewis, sophomore Luebbert and freshmen Tess Rellihan, Macy Trujillo and Lindsey Whitmore
- Macy Trujillo became the first true freshman to score Missouri's first goal of the season since Candace Johnson against Memphis on Aug. 17, 2012
Four Tigers, seniors Clark and Johnson, and sophomores Anna Frick and Luebbert, earned spots on the 2016 SEC Watch List - Mizzou's non-conference schedule, which included games with seven power five opponents, was ranked as the 11th-toughest non-conference schedule nationally
Additionally, the Tigers' slate was rated as both the toughest full and non-conference schedule among SEC teams - Head Coach Bryan Blitz is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Tigers, and owns a 234-187-32 record with the progam
