COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball continues to maintain its success in the classroom, as the team recorded an impressive 3.59 GPA during the Summer 2017 semester. The Tigers have surpassed a team GPA of 3.50 for five consecutive summer semesters (2013-17).

Five Tigers tallied a perfect 4.00 GPA this summer, while 11 individuals recorded all A's on their respective grade reports.

"Academics is very important to everyone inside the program and our current group of student-athletes continue to exceed expectations," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "With voluntary workouts and practices beginning over the summer, plus academic responsibilities, it's a true testament to all these ladies who maintain a high standard."

The Tigers have enjoyed academic excellence throughout the 2016-17 academic year at the University of Missouri. In July, Mizzou earned its fourth consecutive American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. Additionally, the Tigers produced a cumulative 3.50 GPA over the recent Spring 2017 semester and a 3.55 GPA over the Fall 2016 semester.

Mizzou's 3.50 Spring GPA established itself as the highest team GPA among the 20 intercollegiate athletics programs on campus.

Academic achievements are nothing new to the Mizzou Volleyball program, as the Tigers have exceeded a 3.00 cumulative GPA in 23 of their past 27 combined Fall and Spring semesters since 2004.
