COLUMBIA, Mo. – Three unanswered goals in the second half gave Mizzou Soccer a 3-2 win over Central Arkansas in its season opener on Friday at Walton Stadium. Playing in her first collegiate contest, freshman Sarah Luebbert (Jefferson City, Mo.) found the back of the net in the 75th minute to give the Tigers the edge over the Sugar Bears.

Mizzou attacked fearlessly throughout the night, outshooting Central Arkansas, 24-3. Sophomore Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) recorded the win for the Tigers in goal, saving one shot as the Tigers' defense kept many shots from coming Dossey's way.

Central Arkansas scored the game's first two goals in the first 24 minutes, but Mizzou would be quick to answer, with a goal in the 31st minute from senior defender Lauren Selaiden (Carrollton, Texas). Sophomore midfielder Amanda Shaw (Carmel, Ind.) played the ball into the box off a corner kick, which hit the cross bar and bounced towards Selaiden's direction, where she powered the ball into the back of the net for the Tigers' first goal of the season.

Mizzou re-entered the pitch for the second half down, 2-1, but remained determined to tie the score. Redshirt freshman Madison Lewis (Zionsville, Ind.) scored the equalizer in the 73 minute off an assist from senior defender Erin Webb (Castle Rock, Colo.). The assist was Webb's fourth of her career. Less than two minutes later, Luebbert's goal gave Mizzou the lead for good. The Jefferson City High School product broke away from the defense near midfield and raced towards the box. Luebbert faked to the left to shake a defender, then moved to her right and shot the ball to the top-left of net, past the goalkeeper for the game winning goal.

Mizzou returns to action on Sunday as the Tigers host Iowa at 1 p.m. CT from Walton Stadium. Mizzou leads the all-time series against the Hawkeyes, 8-0-0.
