The freshman will continue his debut season in California over the weekend
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The book hasn't closed quite yet on freshman Kahmari Montgomery's stellar debut season, as the young Tiger departs for the USATF Junior Championships this weekend in Clovis, California. Hosted at Buchanan High School, the three-day meet serves as the qualifier into the IAAF World Junior Championships, hosted in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on July 19-24.
Montgomery enters the competition after a ninth-place finish in the 400m dash at the NCAA Championships two weeks ago. He currently ranks No. 22 in the world overall, No. 3 among juniors, in the 400m with his 45.13 PR, which won him his second SEC title in the event. Montgomery will take on both of his school record events on Saturday (June 25) with the 400m dash at 7:45 p.m. CT and the 200m dash at 9 p.m. CT.
