Tigers only team under-par following opening 36 holes

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf came out on top at day one of the 2016 Johnie Imes Invitational on Monday afternoon. The Tigers shot 2-under (574: 282-292) over 36 holes in the opening two rounds at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Sophomore Emma Allen (Southampton, England) is tied for the individual tournament lead, after shooting 6-under (138: 66-72) for the day. Allen's sensational opening 66 tied the lowest individual first round score in Johnie Imes history. Additionally, the score T-3rd lowest overall 18-hole total in tournament history.
Fresno State is currently in second place overall after two rounds of play. The Bulldogs shot 3-over (579: 291-288), as they served as the Tigers' strongest competition all day.
Round #1
Mizzou led the first round with a team total of 6-under (282). Allen had a strong start by tallying a score of 6-under (66) to lead the opening 18 holes. She posted a birdie on the 8th hole, followed by an eagle on the 9th hole to finish 4-under (32) through the front nine.
Sophomore Cayce Hendrickson (Benton, Ky.) was T-10th with a score of 1-under (71). Freshman Cherise Otter (Bloomington, Ind.) competed as an individual competitor and placed T-5th with a score of 3-under (69). Otter kicked off the latter half of her round with an eagle on the 10th hole.
Round #2
Mizzou continued its lead throughout Monday's second round, as it shot even (292) over the final 18 holes. Both Allen and freshman Jessica Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) finished their rounds by shooting even par (72).
Sophomore Marit Harryvan (Winschoten, Netherlands) had an eagle on the 9th hole to bring her 1-under through her opening nine holes. Harryvan, competing as an individual, ended her round 1-under (71) to rank T-16th overall.
Sophomore Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.) concluded her solid opening day with a second round 2-under (70). Otter ended the day with an even (72) round, wrapping up a 3-under (141) total two-round score. The Bloomington, Ind., native joined Allen in Top 5 individual rankings on the afternoon.
