#22 @MizzouWBB Dominates Ole Miss in Second Half for 60-46 Victory

Tigers outscored Rebels 42-27 over final 20 minutes
OXFORD, Miss. – No. 22 Mizzou Women's Basketball (18-4, 5-4) shot 61 percent in the second half to defeat Ole Miss (10-11, 2-6) by the score of 60-46 on Sunday evening at The Pavilion. Sierra Michaelis (Mercer, Mo.) led the Tigers with 20 points and a season-high eight rebounds.
Sophie Cunningham (Columbia, Mo.) notched her second career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds while Jordan Frericks (Quincy, Ill.) finished with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Michaelis found her shooting stroke in the third quarter and drained four shots from beyond the arc. She finished with 14 points in the third period as the Tigers outscored the Rebels 25-15.
In the fourth quarter, Mizzou kept the pressure on, outscoring the Rebels 17-12 and leading throughout.
The first quarter was a back-and-forth battle with the Rebels holding a 16-14 lead following the first 10 minutes. Cunningham had four early points.
In the second quarter, both teams struggled to score points as there were only seven points combined. Ole Miss held a 19-18 halftime advantage. Cunningham had six points and seven rebounds in the first half while Cierra Porter (Columbia, Mo.) also had seven boards during the first half. Porter finished with career-highs of 11 boards and three blocks.
Frericks scored 15 points and grabbed seven boards in the second half. Michaelis scored 16 of her 20 points during the final two quarters.
For the game, the Tigers shot 48 percent (24-for-50) from the field. Mizzou held Ole Miss to 24 percent (16-for-66) shooting and 15 percent (5-for-34) from beyond the arc. The Tigers outscored the Rebels 36-8 in the paint.
Mizzou will return to action Thursday with a 7 p.m. CT tipoff vs. Georgia at Mizzou Arena. The game will be available on SEC Network Plus/WatchESPN.
