COLUMBIA, Mo. – In late May, Mizzou Volleyball made its long trek to Beijing, China, for an unforgettable 13-day trip. While overseas, the Tigers competed against top Chinese competition during the week and visited historic landmarks on the weekends.
Throughout the offseason, MUTigers.com will meet with each of the Tiger players who made the memorable trip. Each individual will focus on one part of the team's trip and recall what that moment meant to them.
Next, is redshirt freshman Riley Sents and her recollection of visiting the Forbidden City. The following description was written by Sents.

Going to China was one of the most memorable experiences I've had in my life. I'm so thankful that I had the opportunity to travel to a country that I would most likely never had the chance to go to otherwise. One of my favorite experiences from the trip was the tour of the Forbidden City (the place that the Chinese royal family lived).

Exploring and experiencing the Forbidden City is something that I will never forget. As soon as we walked in the area, the first thing I noticed was the intricate architecture and designs. The buildings were breathtaking, painted and designed in bold colors of blue and gold. The buildings were also huge. I could never imagine living in a place that large.

The history behind the Forbidden City was also very cool and interesting to learn about as we were touring the area. It was amazing to walk around in the same place that the royal family and the emperors actually lived. It was also fascinating because seeing the city was like looking right through a window into the Chinese culture and history.

During the trip I learned so much about the Chinese culture and had a blast with all of my best friends. It was an amazing trip that I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to go on!
