Mizzou's Paige Lowary Named To 2016 USA Softball Women's Elite Team

Mizzou Softball sophomore LHP Paige Lowary (Dallas Center, Iowa) has been selected as one of 18 members to the 2016 USA Softball Women's Elite Team, as announced by USA Softball and The Amateur Softball Association (ASA).

OKLAHOMA CITY – Mizzou Softball sophomore LHP Paige Lowary (Dallas Center, Iowa) has been selected as one of 18 members to the 2016 USA Softball Women's Elite Team, as announced Friday by USA Softball and The Amateur Softball Association (ASA).

The USA Softball Women's Elite Team will participate in a series of exhibition games against the USA Softball Women's National Team in addition to the World Cup of Softball XI. Lowary and her Elite Team teammates will also compete in exhibition games at the USA Softball JO Cup in Marietta, Ga., later this year.

Lowary recently participated in the 2016 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Camp in Irvine, Calif. This past summer, the Dallas Center, Iowa, native was one of 20 student-athletes selected to the 2015 USA Softball Junior Women's National Team (JWNT).

Lowary had an outstanding first-year campaign with Mizzou Softball in 2015, posting an 18-7 record, 3.40 ERA and over a strikeout an inning (164 Ks in 162.2 IP). Additionally, the Tiger hurler earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 23, after going 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA at the 2015 Mary Nutter Classic and SEC Co-Freshman of the Week honors on April 27, following a 3-0 record and 0.67 ERA stretch from April 20-26.
