COLUMBIA, Mo. - Online registration for the 2016 Big River High School Series, hosted by the University of Missouri in the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse, opened on Wednesday, January 6.  This season, which marks the fourth year for the successful indoor series, will feature three meets, including a Championship competition on February 20.  

The Big River HS Series has steadily become one of the premier indoor meets in the Midwest for high school track and field athletes.  Since its start in 2013, 36 of the performances during the annual circuit have landed 16 boys and 20 girls in the top 50 of the MileSplit yearly rankings for their respective events.  Among those marks are six top ten yearly rankings, including the national leader in the boys' weight throw for 2015.

That tradition of high-level competition will continue this year, with the first meet at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse in Columbia, Mo., scheduled for Saturday, January 16.  Sunday, January 31, will be the second and final meet of the season before the Championship competition on Saturday, February 20.
