COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou soccer team outshot the Oregon State Beavers 22-7 but could not find the back of the net in a 0-0 double-overtime scoreless draw Friday night at in front of 1,571 fans Walton Stadium. The Tigers went to 2-1-2 on the year, while the Beavers went to 3-0-1. The attendance of 1,571 marked the fourth-biggest crowd in program history.
Missouri also had a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 7-2 edge in corners over 110 minutes of action.
Freshman keeper Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) made one save in goal to lower her season goals against average to 0.44.
Junior Lauren Selaiden (Carrollton, Texas) had two of the Tigers' best chances of the match. Then in the final minute of the first overtime session, Selaiden sent a 20-yard bending ball to the right post but it sailed just wide.
In the 80th minute, redshirt senior Lauren Flynn (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.) almost played hero for the second consecutive game with near-miss off a corner. Stationed near the far post, the defender bent down to get a head on a corner but her two-yard shot bounced a foot wide of the right post.
