KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mizzou soccer team closed exhibition action with a 1-1 tie against Arkansas on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. A goal from sophomore Kaitlyn Clark (Liberty, Mo.) in the first half gave the Tigers the early edge but Arkansas managed the equalizer with less than four minutes on the clock.

With exhibition action concluded, Mizzou officially opens the 2015 season on Friday, Aug. 21 as the team hosts TCU at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium.

Play went back and forth over the first 20 minutes but neither team managed to break through until Clark's goal in the 23rd minute. After receiving the ball from sophomore Jessica Johnson near the left sideline, Clark dribbled toward the top of the box, cut to her right and slotted a left-footed shot past the lower left post.

Mizzou had chances late in the second half but could not find the back of the net. The team's best attempt again came off the foot of Clark, who cut inside from the endline and sent a shot on goal. An Arkansas defender stepped in to kick the attempt over the crossbar but the Tigers failed to capitalize on the ensuing corner.

Arkansas finally tallied its equalizer with less than four minutes remaining. A 17-yard blast for from the left side of the box soared just over the outstretched arms of Tiger freshman keeper Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) for the eventual 1-1 tie.

Dossey made seven saves in net for Mizzou.
