Game Notes
With Wednesday's loss, Mizzou falls to 16-5 on the year.
Air Force scored their first run in the third inning, marking the first run scored against Mizzou in 24.1 consecutive innings.
Andrew Schwaab started for the Tigers. He pitched two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. It was his first appearance this season in which he allowed multiple hits.
With a double in the second inning, Ryan Howard has now hit safely in six straight games. Howard tied a career high with 4 RBI in Tuesday's matchup against Air Force.
Josh Lester hit safely in his first three at bats of the game, giving him his fourth multi-hit game of the season - good for third most on the team. Lester leads the Tigers with three three-hit games this year.
Chris Akmon double in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh for his second and third hits of the year. As such, Akmon recorded his first multi-hit game of the season.
Mizzou scored a run on an Air Force balk in the fourth inning. It is the first time this season that a Mizzou baserunner has scored on a balk.
Brandon Baker made his first pitching appearance of the year for the Tigers. He pitched two scoreless innings and struckout two batters.
Mizzou is now 12-3 in day games this year.
