Game Notes
• With a first inning walk senior Brett Peel extends his reached base safely streak to 18. In the very next at bat sophomore Jake Ring singled to the pitcher and extended his own reached base safely streak to 20.
• Peel picked up another walk in the second as he now as seven walks over the past four games.
• Two runs crossed the plate for the Tigers in the first inning as they have now outscored their opponents 12-5 in the opening frame this year.
• Sophomore Ryan Howard belted a bases loaded, bases clearing double to right center in the second inning to tie his career high for RBI in a game with four and now has 13 RBI on the season. Howard also knocked in four RBI against IPFW on March 1, 2014.
• Howard finished 2-for-3, his fourth multi-hit game of the season.
• Senior Logan Pearson drove in Zach Lavy on his first triple of the season, fourth of his career.
• Senior pitcher John Miles made his second start of the season and had his strongest outing of the season. Miles pitched 6.0 innings; the longest he has been on the mound since April 19th, 2014 against Mississippi State when he pitched 6.1 innings.
•Miles final line was 6.0 shutout innings pitched, zero runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four. The performance earned Miles his first win of the season as he moved to 1-0.
• Sophomore Jack Klages picked up a single in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to five games. He has now reached base safely in all eight games he has appeared in.
• Junior Austin Tribby made his team leading and second in the Southeastern Conference 12th appearance pitching 1.0 inning and not allowing a baserunner while striking out one.
• The 6-0 victory gives the Tigers five shutouts on the season and 12 games in which they have allowed two runs or fewer.
• Mizzou has now scored five or more runs in six consecutive games and are 6-0 during that stretch.
