COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou volleyball senior Lydia Ely was inducted yesterday by the Mizzou Alumni Association as one of the Mizzou 39 honorees. The Mizzou 39 recognizes 39 senior students who have shown exemplary service, leadership, and academics throughout their college career. Each winner has been involved in numerous activities and organizations across campus, making it extremely impressive that Ely was chosen while apart of Mizzou's volleyball team.
Ely has been a volleyball student athlete, Vice President of Service for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, along with being a member of a Health Professions fraternity and community service organizations. She also spent the summer in rural Vietnam teaching children academics, sports and life skills with other Vietnamese university students. She was a part of the SEC championship team her sophomore year when the tigers went 35-1 for the season.
