
@MizzouVB Announces Two Signees To Class of 2016

Head Coach Wayne Kreklow brings talented group to Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow announced Tuesday that two future student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the program in 2016.
Mizzou will welcome Kayla Caffey (Chicago, Ill.) and Andie Hanus (Omaha, Neb.) to its roster next season.
"We are really excited to add both Kayla and Andie to the Mizzou Volleyball family," Kreklow said. "We expect both to have an immediate impact in our program. Kayla is an exceptional athlete who is quick, jumps well and has a great arm. Andie is also an outstanding athlete who has a great platform and sees the game very well."
"Both come from nationally competitive high school and club programs so they understand what it takes to compete among the nation's best programs. What's even more important is that both Andie and Kayla are great people and outstanding students. We are very excited about them becoming a part of the Mizzou Volleyball program."
Kayla Caffey // MB // Chicago, Ill. // Mother McAuley High School
Caffey is a talented middle blocker who solidified herself as one of the nation's top recruits. In her past two seasons, Caffey emerged as one of Mother McAuley's top players and tallied 200-plus kills on better than .400 hitting in each campaign. Mother McAuley once again solidified itself as one of the country's top high school programs after a successful 2015 campaign.
Recently, Caffey was honored as a 2015-16 Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American for her outstanding senior season. In her final campaign at Mother McAuley, the team captain produced 286 kills on .461 hitting and 98 total blocks. Additionally, Daily Southtown – Chicago Tribune honored Caffey with its Player of the Year award for her superb play on the court.
Caffey also shined at two premier national tournaments, earning All-Tournament Team honors at the 2015 Asics Challenge and MVP honors at the 2015 Glenbard East 24th Annual Tournament. Additionally, PrepVolleyball named Caffey No. 71 in its Class of 2016 Senior Aces list.
In her junior season, Caffey finished with 224 kills on .499 hitting and 79 total blocks, leading Mother McAuley to a 2014 ISHA Regional and Sectional Championships. Caffey garnered national attention after being named to USA Volleyball's Women's Junior National A2 Team following her stellar season.
Caffey jumped on the national scene after a breakout sophomore campaign as she tallied 122 kills on .474 hitting and 23 total blocks. Her strong performance on the court led Mother McAuley to a 2013 ISHA State Championship.
Andie Hanus // L-DS // Omaha, Neb. // Marian High School
Hanus is a three-year starter and four-year letter winner for Marian as the school continues to be one of the top high school programs in the country. Marian claimed three consecutive Class A State Championships (2013-15) and has consistently placed inside PrepVollleyball's national high school volleyball team rankings. The 2015 Marian squad finished No. 15 in the country according to PrepVolleyball.
Individually, Hanus broke through her sophomore campaign with Honorable Mention All-State and Honorable Mention All-Metro recognition. In her junior season, Hanus once again received Honorable Mention All-State honors and also garnered All-Metro Second Team recognition. She was also named to PrepVolleyball's "Defensive Dandy" award list, honoring the top defensive players in the country.
In her senior campaign, Hanus was named to PrepVolleyball's "Senior Aces 150" list and was an Under Armour Girls High School All-American Honorable Mention honoree. Additionally, Hanus was a Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist in Nebraska.
Academically, Hanus is a member of the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Honor Society. Hanus has excelled in the classroom throughout high school as she was named to the Principal's List all four years. Additionally, Hanus was honored as a National Merit Commended Student for her outstanding academic performance.
