
@MizzouSwimDive Hosts Tennessee Thursday in SEC Opener

The Tigers take on the Volunteers Thursday at Noon at the Mizzou Aquatic Center
COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving programs open Southeastern Conference action on Thursday, Oct. 15 with a Noon home dual against the Tennessee Volunteers at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Admission to the meet is free, however fans are encouraged to donate goods in support of relief effots for South Carolina and the University's surrounding area. Items such a plates, bowls, toilet paper, tissue paper and plastic flatware are needed in the area and can be dropped off at the meet.
Both programs are coming off titles at the 10th annual Show-Me Showdown on Oct. 2, as the men scored 682 points to defeat 10 teams and the women's squad tallied 711 points to best nine other programs.
Missouri won 11 men's and 11 women's titles during the meet. Junior Michael Chadwick(Charlotte, N.C.) and sophomores Hannah Stevens (Lexington, Ohio) and Kira Zubar (Chaska, Minn.) each earned two event wins to lead the Tigers. Chadwick swept the 50 free and 100 free events, Stevens won the 100 free and 100 back and Zubar claimed victories in the 200 free and 500 free.
Following the Show-Me Showdown, seven different Tigers are ranked nationally in the top-25 of their respective events.

Following the dual against Tennessee, the Mizzou women travel to Dallas, Texas, to compete at the SMU Classic Oct. 16-17. The Tigers will face host SMU, Florida State, Louisville, TCU and UCLA at the Classic, with action starting at 6:30 p.m. both days.
