Mizzou vs South Carolina Game Notes March 22

? Senior Brett Peel has now reached base safely in 21 consecutive games after reaching on a walk in the first inning. Peel immediately stole second base for his 14th steal of the season, which ties him for first in the SEC with Mississippi State's Jacob Robson.

? With three runs in the first inning the Tigers now outscore their opponents 15-6 in the opening frame.

? South Carolina's Gene Cone's triple to right-center in the third inning was the first triple given up by pitcher Peter Fairbanks this season and just his fourth extra base hit allowed.

? Fairbanks finished the day with a line of 5.0 innings pitched allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out one.

? Zach Lavy knocked in two runs on a two run double in the first inning, his third multi-RBI game of the season.

? The series victory gives Mizzou four series victories on the season including two in SEC competition.

? Trey Harris followed up his walk-off performance on Saturday with a multi-RBI effort on Sunday. His two RBI came on a two-out double that scored two in the eighth inning. It marks the third time this season Harris has had multi-RBI in a game and the second time this series.

? Harris entered the weekend with seven RBI; with five RBI over the weekend his season total is now up to 12, which is tied for third on the team.

? Josh Lester drew two walks which marks the 14th time a Tiger has drawn multiple walks in a game. It is the second time Lester has drawn multiple as he drew three walks on February 13th against Iona.

? Mizzou allowed seven runs, tying the most runs given up by the Tiger pitching staff this season.
