COLUMBIA, Mo. - After a second place finish at the 2015 Southern Scuffle, Mizzou wrestling returns to dual action this Saturday in Ithaca, N.Y. against No. 4 Cornell. Competition begins at 1 p.m. (CT) inside the Friedman Wrestling Center and can be followed along at TrackWrestling.com.
The No. 5 Tigers (12-0) and No. 4 Big Red (6-0) both enter Saturday's dual with undefeated records. Mizzou is a perfect 3-0 on the road this season, including a thrilling 20-19 win at No. 7 Ohio State on Dec. 14, 2014.
Dating back to last season, Mizzou begins the new year riding a 16 dual winning streak. The Tigers' unblemished 12-0 record this season plus four dual victories to end the 2013-14 campaign marks the longest dual winning streak in Tiger Style program history. The previous record of 15 straight wins was held by the 1967-68 Mizzou Tigers under head coach Hap Whitney.

Tigers Top National Powers At 2015 Southern Scuffle
This past week (Jan. 1-2), the Tigers competed in the 2015 Southern Scuffle and finished in second place overall with 150.0 points. Mizzou was only topped by defending National Champions Penn State (165.0 points). The Tigers' impressive two day performance out-dueled numerous national powers, as they finished above No. 3 Cornell, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 9 Pittsburgh, No. 11 Lehigh, No. 12 Nebraska, No. 14 Iowa State, No. 15 Michigan, No. 16 Virginia, and No. 21 Wyoming.
Three Individual Winners At Scuffle Remain Unbeaten
At the 2015 Scuffle, Mizzou saw three individual grapplers take home event wins, as redshirt senior Alan Waters (125), redshirt sophomore Lavion Mayes (141) and sophomore J'den Cox (197) all took home top honors in their respective brackets. Furthermore, with their perfect week in Chattanooga, Tenn., the three talented Tigers continued their perfect starts to the 2014-15 season. Waters now sits at 18-0, Mayes improved to 20-0 and Cox stands at 19-0.
Cox Earns Second MAC Wrestler of the Week Award This Season
The Columbia, Mo. native went a perfect 5-0 at last week's Scuffle which included three consecutive victories over ranked opponents en route to his event championship. In his final three matches, the Columbia, Mo. native took down No. 16 Zach Nye (Virginia), No. 4 Morgan McIntosh (Penn State) and No. 5 Connor Hartmann (Duke).
Dating back to last season, Cox has been the winner of 39 consecutive matches. His last loss came on Jan. 2, 2014 at that year's Southern Scuffle against Kyven Gadson (Iowa State). Following that loss, Cox has been untouchable and has 13 ranked victories among his current 39 match win streak.
