COLUMBIA, Mo. - Coming off of a historic 2013 season, four Mizzou volleyball players are scheduled to compete in the US Women's National Team Open Tryouts, taking place Feb. 21-23 at the US Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Tigers will be represented by AVCA All-Americans Carly Kan and Whitney Little along with senior standouts Sarah Meister and Emily Wilson.
This year, there will be 248 student-athletes in the tryouts, representing 106 colleges and universities, both record numbers. Tryouts are for spots on U.S. Women's National Team and/or U.S. Collegiate National Teams program (formerly U.S. Women's Senior A2 Teams). Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women's National Team staff will lead the tryout process and selected athletes will be notified by early March. USA Volleyball will announce the selections by the end of March once all roster spots are accepted and confirmed.
