COLUMBIA, Mo. - Fresh off their opening duals last Saturday at the Hearnes Center, Mizzou wrestling now travels to Norfolk, Va. this Sunday, Nov. 23 for their first Mid-American Conference (MAC) matchup. Action is set to begin at 12 p.m. (CT) at the Jim Jarrett Athletic Administration Building.

Sunday's dual pits the No. 1 and No. 2 preseason ranked teams in the conference, according to the MAC coaches poll. Mizzou gained 27 points to lead the team rankings, while Old Dominion came in second with 18 points.
Between the Tigers and Monarchs, the two programs hold six of the 10 preseason No. 1 MAC wrestlers. Mizzou enters with Alan Waters (125), Drake Houdashelt (149), J'den Cox (197), and Devin Mellon (HWT) while the Monarchs counter with Chris Mecate (141) and Jack Dechow (184).
Series History
Mizzou is 8-0-1 all-time vs. Old Dominion. Their previous meeting was last season when the Tigers defeated the Monarchs, 21-9. The Tigers also hold a 4-0-1 all-time record in Norfolk, Va. Head Coach Brian Smith is a perfect 5-0 all-time against the Monarchs.
Coach Smith Earns Historic Win
Head Coach Brian Smith earned his 200th all-time win at the helm of Mizzou wrestling last weekend after the Tigers produced a dominating 54-0 victory over Truman State. Mizzou followed up the historic win for coach Smith with another easy victory over Missouri Baptist, 43-3.
Now with 201 career wins at Mizzou, Smith is seeking his 14th consecutive season with a .500 or better record with the Tigers. In the past four seasons, he has led the program to double digit wins and has reached that feat in 12 of his 15 seasons in Mid-Missouri.
