Mizzou Announces 2015 Gymnastics Schedule

2015 Mizzou Gymnastics ScheduleCOLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou gymnastics team will host six meets in 2015, including a clash with Alabama at Mizzou Arena, to highlight the 2015 schedule, second-year Head Coach Shannon Welker announced on Thursday. The Tigers will host Southeastern Conference foes Kentucky and Auburn at the Hearnes Center, as well as the squad's Mizzou Arena debut against Alabama.

"We are excited about the strength and challenges our schedule provides," Welker said. "Competing against some of the strongest teams in the NCAA will certainly help us prepare for post season. Our fans will get a chance to see six home competitions, including Kentucky, Auburn and Alabama. It should be a fun season and one filled with much success!"

After the Black & Gold exhibition on Dec. 13, Missouri officially opens the 2015 schedule against at home against Towson on Friday, Jan. 9.

The Tigers then spend the next three weekends on the road, with meets at Georgia (Jan. 16), LSU (Jan. 23), and against SEMO and Lindenwood at the State of Missouri Meet in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Jan. 30. Both LSU and Georgia competed in the Super Six last season, as the teams posted finishes of third and fifth, respectively.

Missouri will host two meets the first full weekend in February, a clash against Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 6 and a 3 p.m. matchup against Lindenwood on Sunday, Feb. 8.

On Feb. 13, the Tigers travel to Gainesville, Fla., to face off against defending National Champion Florida at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Gators claimed its second straight national title after tying with Oklahoma for the team crown in 2015.

Auburn comes to the Hearnes Center for an SEC meet on Friday, Feb. 20. The last road trip of the regular season pits Mizzou against Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 27 in Fayetteville, Ark.

On Friday, March 6, Missouri hosts Alabama at Mizzou Arena in the first Mizzou gymnastics meet in the facility since the building opened in during the 2004-05 season. The Crimson Tide earned a fourth-place finish at Super Six last season. 

Mizzou then closes out the regular season on at home on Friday, March 13 against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

The 2015 SEC Gymnastics Championship will be held on Saturday, March 21 at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. Two weeks later on April 4, the NCAA Regionals will take place as six predetermined sites, before the 2015 NCAA Championships April 17-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.
