STILLWATER, Okla. - Mizzou tennis began day one of the ITA Central Regionals Friday in Stillwater, Okla., as sophomore Brittany Lashway and junior Kelli Hine competed in the singles and doubles main draws. The duo claimed three total victories on the day, including a pair of singles wins by Hine.
Lashway and Hine began Friday morning with a victory in doubles play over South Dakota State's Tacy Haws-Lay and Florencia Magni, 8-3. The Tigers compete in the second round of doubles action tomorrow against Wichita State's Gabriela Porubin and Julia Schiller.
In the singles main draw bracket, Hine compiled a perfect 2-0 record after defeating SIUE's Lexi Aranda (6-2, 6-2) and Oklahoma's Christiana Brigante (6-4, 6-4). Saturday morning, Hine continues her track in the main singles bracket against Oklahoma State's Viktoriya Lushkova.
Also in the singles main draw, Lashway paired up against Tulsa's Rongrong Leenabanchong and fell in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).
The two Tigers continue play Saturday at The Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
