Mizzou Tennis Closes Out Bulldog Tennis Classic

ATHENS, Ga. - In the team's second tournament of the fall season, senior Alex Clark led the way for Mizzou tennis with four total victories at this weekend's 2014 Bulldog Tennis Classic. The London, England native won three-of-four singles matches, including a win today over Lipscomb's Laura Kent (6-0, 6-4).

Freshman Brianna Lashway also played in one last singles match Sunday morning, as she fell to Wisconsin's Sydney Rider (3-6, 6-4, 6-2). Lashway finished her weekend in Athens, Ga. with a singles record of 1-2.

The Tiger duo also wrapped up play in the round robin doubles tournament, and dropped an 8-3 match to Georgia's Hannah King and Mia King. Clark and Lashway ended the tournament with a 1-2 record in doubles competition.

Up next for Mizzou tennis are the ITA Central Regionals in Stillwater, Okla. from Oct. 17-20. The Tigers will send junior Kelli Hine and sophomore Brittany Lashway to next weekend's tournament.
